This love we have – un-deniable.
A gift from God it’s reliable.
I can’t conceal the way I feel; I know it’s real –
The day I met you it sealed the deal -
I lost my heart – unregrettable.
Those clear blue eyes, unforgettable.
From just a glance, I took a chance on our romance -
And I was the winner.
A better pair? So improbable.
The joy we share – incomparable.
When you gave me your heart, it was just the start;
Baby you flipped my cart - and spilled the love all over me!
Now our wedding day you were beautiful.
And our kids they say are unbelievable -
And in the days ahead,
I believe the best is yet to come for me -
Since I found you – I am the winner.
From the day that we were born no more than twenty two minutes apart –
No matter where in the world God put us
He designed it right from the start
It is so obvious -
That He planned for us - to be together –
To lose you now – inconceivable!
We made a vow – irretrievable.
The game we’re in we’ll play to win;
To quit would be a sin –
If I could start over I’d do it again!
Through pain or joys undefeatable.
We’ve made the choice – so we’re unbeatable.
And with God in control -
I yield to you my heart and mind and soul –
And I am the winner.

So I’m on the way to Chattanooga, considering the final tune to add to this EP. My daughter had recommended a very fun love song called “Everything” by Michael Buble which I had been listening to – it made me happy. As I began to ponder the sweetness of our relationship, a ton of “describable” words began to flow, and within a simple direct flight from Raleigh to Birmingham, “Since I Found You” was born. One editorial note: We changed a line in the song – at the time of writing, the amazing and dreaded New England Patriots were undefeated, heading into the Super Bowl. I wrote one line into the song as a comparison: “Like Brady’s boys – undefeatable” Donnie chided me that I really should write another line, since the Giants were going to win. Nice prediction, Don – so now it’s “through pain or joys – undefeatable!” I do believe attitude makes a huge difference in commitment, and I believe our love is undefeatable, as it remains centered in Christ. So victory in this critical area of relationship is important – so we celebrate on a regular basis.
